“SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL HOMETOWN BUSINESS”
Thank you for visiting our web site. We hope that once you have scrolled through these pages it will make you want to get in your car and drive to our little shoppe on E Main Street in Remington. There you will be greeted with aromas like you once smelled in your grandmother’s kitchen. Maybe you were at her side helping her mix up her next batch of bread or fresh apple pie….those are yummy memories we all treasure.
We are a locally owned and operated country market committed to wholesome, quality food. The name, The Farmer’s Wife Market, is a tribute to Dawn’s mother, sister and sister-in-law who are all active dairy farmers’ wives and also to remind you of the things you would find in a farm wives’ kitchen.
We offer a wide variety of products -- homemade breads (a local Byler family recipe), pies and pastries, organic & natural glass bottled milk, a large variety of spices & herbs, gluten free products, organic dry goods, local Remington Cheese (produced by Fields of Grace farm), local organic produce (summer months only), and deli meats & cheeses (lower than supermarket prices). An interesting detail about the Guggisberg Baby Swiss Cheese that we sell, is the milk from Dawn’s brothers farm is used to manufacture this cheese. It is the best cheese in our case! We have all your baking ingredients!
Come step into our market and let it remind you “of a place back in time”. Our staff will greet you with a friendly smile and are willing and ready to assist you in any way possible to help make your shopping experience one that you will long remember. Where else can you shop where they know your name?
We feel very grateful to the people in the little community of Remington and the surrounding towns, Culpeper and Warrenton, who have enjoyed the shoppe so much they made repeat visits in our first 2 years of business. We opened the doors for business in November 2005.
We are also grateful to our church community, Dayspring Mennonite Church, and others, who rallied around us in the opening days and gave countless hours to help package products and get our store operational. We truly experienced a sense of community. Thank you!
Sincerely,
